In his designing process, he tries to find a balance between technology and art. In recent years, 3D printing has become a common technique in jewelry making. 3D printing enables the jewelry of design-driven pieces that are not limited by the traditional methods, and eliminated many process steps that can easily be achieved some of the intricate details. Each design is sculpted using Maya and 3D printed in silver and gold.

Zodiac Horse Ring Jewelry by Kin Wa Chan Desmond Chan is a jewelry designer based in London. In his designing process, he aims to design energetic, limited and customized jewelry. The idea is to make use of 3D printing technology to produce intricate details jewelry. Zodiac Horse Ring is structurally interconnected with a complex wire network of different thickness that provides the ring with a resilient surface tension and overall strength of structure. Desmond created a stylized horse leaving many negative spaces to explore the delicate balanced tension between positive and negative space.
